This Eye Brand knife was made in the 1960s. It features Patterned Stainless Steel handles and  the blades are stainless steel as well. The opening and closing mechanism for this knife involves a small ball bearing and is incredibly unique. There is no nail nick to aid in opening the blade, instead the tip must be pressed down and can be opened when it springs back to a higher position. To close the blade it first needs to be held vertically with the blade tip pointed down and the blade folded up towards a closed position, and then to finish closing it it needs to be tipped vertically in the opposite direction and the blade pushed in the rest of the way to spring lock. These actions manipulate the ball bearing to allow the blade to close. The spey blade measures approx 1 3/4" with the Eye stamp at the base.Closed, the knife measures 2 7/8".
