Product details
The oldest evidence that beer was brewed in Germany comes from around 800 B.C. By the second century, beer was being traded commercially in Germany. In 1516, Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria enacted the Reinheitsgebot, or the "Purity Law," which regulated the brewing of beer in Germany. The town of Solingen, known as the cutlery center of Germany, also enacted strict laws for the manufacture of knives and shears. While Böker is not quite as "aged" as the brewing industry, the same quality standards apply. To commemorate this common interest, Böker is introducing a series of traditional pocketknives with handles made from Genuine German ale/beer barrels, handcrafted in the Solingen factory.
Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany, this handsome time-tested Böker Copperhead is approximately 3 3/4 inches long(folded/closed) and weighs approximately 3.1 ounces. The handle is Beer Barrel Wood with a Nickel Silver Boker Inlay Shield. The bolsters are Nickel Silver. This knife utilizes a 2 3/4" Clip blade and 2 3/4" Skinner blade. The blades are German C75 Carbon Steel with Tree Brand etching. Note: Carbon Steel is generally harder than stainless steel, this allows the blade to hold a sharper edge, longer. However, Carbon Steel will corrode/rust if it's not cleaned and oiled regularly. The knife comes in a Black Böker box. This Copperhead is a professional-grade tool that comes with a Limited Lifetime Manufacturer's Warranty and is not designed nor intended to be used on or against humans. So, whether you're searching for authentic cutlery to collect, a top quality knife to give as a gift, or a superior tool to use, don't pass this one up!
